Another quick and subtle touch up to this session of the in progress wine tasting update.

"Eye"

Looking through some old photos, recently I came across a couple of old paintings. This is one those. One of my first experimental paintings in realism. This painting hooked me on realism painting.
This painting is one of my all time favorite paintings.

Finally started the bottom of the Decanter in this commission wine painting.... slowly but surely.

Finally resloved a few technical issues with the bottom portion of the wine bottle and it's label border. Now on to complete the rest of the bottle  as well as start work on the adjacent  decanter

Started the bench to the New Orleans  Lakefront Lakeshore Drive  painting. An iconic  scene along the south shores of Lake Pontchartrain.

Bringing out brighter light reflections with several  more passes over the white  highlights in the on-going Wine Decanter and Bottle  painting.

New Orleans Lakefront ( in progress)

This  new New Orleans Painting of Lakeshore Drive New Orleans,  with an iconic New Orleans lakefront bench in distance, is painted from  source photo ( also shown). As in the source photo, in this in progress painting, future posts will show the bench as distant object with foreground grass blades being the main focus of painting

Going up the wine glass,  added a few layers and background at top of glass.Softened reflected light on table surface. Latest changes to the on-going updates forWine Glass Decanter and Wine Bottle  .

Finally getting a  few more layers glazed over the New Orleans Jazz Saxophone Player's face  and hand ( below). Also further defined the mouthpiece.Still lots to do yet and got to be real careful  and do justice to Aldophe Sax's  windwood instrument.  
I feel a real challenge on the way!  Come back and see how I do!  
As earlier mentioned, this painting was inspired by a source photo that was taken in a procession passing in front of Royal Sonesta Hotel New Orleans, Mardi Gras weekend this year.
