Louisiana Brown Pelican

Experimenting with a quick
impressionistic rendering
of Louisiana's State bird, the Louisiana  Brown Pelican.
The sky and water was applied with wet on wet pigment  blended onto canvas, with finger, as I have once painted with oil pastels.

Andrew Jackson

The deep contrast in color tones  and the backdrop of the blue sky, attracted me to do this New Orleans landmark. Andrew Jackson before the St Louis Cathedral New Orleans, after first few  layers.

Marsh

The background to the marsh painting is nearly completed.
I have revised it to include details of the cumulonimbus thunderstorm clouds, clustered in the distance.
The far end of the clouds from this vantage point  fade into the distance near the horizon.
The beveled look  to the  horizon is not actually painted that way.
Will adjust and correct to true view in the in the  image software at next posting.
